Christmas Bears

Happy Saturday to everyone.  Its very dull outside at the moment here but quite mild.  The perfect day for crafting.

Today's card features a Christmas Bears die cut image from Lili of the Valley  I have cut the image as a circle and mounted on lovely Christmas snowflake paper from my stash and embossed further snowflakes onto the card using Snowflakes stamps from Butterfly Kisses and white/glitter embossing powder.

I would like to enter this card for the following Challenges:

I have used two new cutting dies from Memory Box to decorate the front of the card - Frosty Border and Flowering Christmas Tree.  The images are glittered and decorated with little pearls.  A fabulous Happy Birthday Ribbon has been used from Crafty Ribbons.  Flowers are from my stash and I think from Wild Orchid Crafts and these have also been glittered and I have used a cute little silver Christmas Tree Charm.  The greeting on the front of the card is Happy Christmas to match the ribbon.

The image has been mounted on the inside of the card.  Glitter and a snow marker pen have been used on the image.  Papers and embossing match the outside of the card and glittered Frosty Border die cuts have again been used.   I have cut a bordered circle in the front of the card and you view the image, mounted on the inside of the card through this circle.

A closer view of the super cute image.

The back of the card featuring matching paper, this has not been embossed and a distressed die cut panel has been mounted for recording a seasonal greeting.

Thank you so much for reading this post.  I hope you like this card.  The sun has just come out and now its time for gardening.

Sending warmest  wishes to all.

Sweet Little Birdhouse.

Happy Saturday to all, its been a lovely early Autumn day here and the sun has been out.  It does make you feel better.

Today's card I  have called Sweet Little Birdhouse and I have had lots of fun with this one.  I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

I used a template from Craftwork Cards to make the birdhouse shape for the cards and covered with papers from my stash.  I have used Versimark Ink and Melt Dust Copper Embossing Powder to stamp and emboss the images on the card.  These stamps are all part of a fabulous set  Cl- 329 from Crafty Individuals and these have been a delight to work with.  I also used a Brass Charm embellishment on the front of the card from Craft Individuals.  I have embossed the border trims with liquid pearl drops and used vintage seam binding and flowers from my stash to decorate the front of the card.  I have used distressing ink 'Vintage Photo' from Tim Holtz on the edges of the card and I think it looks very shabby chic.

A closer view of embossed stamp details and decoration on the card and distressing of edges.

Floral decoration on top of card and showing image of inside greeting.

I have made a pocket inside of the card using a Kanban topper and greeting.  I have used another topper to fit inside the pocket.   This has a ribbon and bird charm embellishment from Crafty Individuals.

Showing the inside of the card with embellished images, distressing to edges and detail.  I have really enjoyed making this card as it got my old brain working.  I hope you like it, thank you for reading this post.

I am having a lot of problems leaving comments on other crafter's blogs.  I like to look at all of the card in challenges I have entered and have tried, so many times, to leave comments and been unable to.  It is very frustrating.  I would like to take this opportunity to say what stunning work is done by crafters and to thank you all for the joy you provide with your work.  It really makes my day to see a stunning card.  Your work is all appreciated even when comment is unable to be made.

 Sending warmest wishes to all.

Curtain Call

A chilly Hello to everyone.  Temperatures are dropping and evenings are getting darker.  More quiet time for crafting.   Today's card features a fabulous image from Whoopsi Daisy Designs Sheet 250 and I have called this card Curtain Call and I think this image is beautiful.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges.

The image has been coloured in lovely shade of pink using Promarker and Fleximarker pens and lots of glitter.  I have mounted the image on a Cheery Lynn die cut and used various embellishments, die cuts and flowers from my stash to decorate.  I saw Joanna Sheen using a folded ribbon embellishment and I have borrowed the technique.  I think the ribbon looks like a stage curtain and the dancer is taking her final bow.  The bottom of the card has been decorated with various cutting dies and has a lovely Happy Birthday greeting.

Thank you for reading this post, I hope you like the card.

Sending Warmest wishes to all, and we need the warmth this weather.

Snowflake Flight

Happy Day to all.  Today's card features the fabulous Teddy Bea 'Snowflake Flight, coloured (mostly) in shades of lovely blue, this weeks favourite colour.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

As usual I got a bit carried away and the card just grew.  I blame it on the papers, they are just to fabulous not to use and so I did.  I used three 12"  x 12"  sheets from my stash which I purchased recently and these feature butterflies and snowflakes.  So I had a theme. Snowflake flight, snowflake paper and lots of lovely snowflake trim and die cuts.  I have cut the snowflakes from card and sprayed with Matt white paint spray and glittered while wet and they look really good.

The fabulous image is from Teddy Bo & Co and features the wonderful Miss Teddy Bea with lots of glitter.  I have used promarker, fleximarker and gel pens to colour the image and distress inks for the sky.  The ribbon and decorations are from my stash and the doily die cut is from Cheery Lynn.

The front of the card which is a 6" x 6" with crossover front, decorated with glittered butterflies from the paper.

This card has a double insert.  This image is under Teddy Bea and is created from the 12" x 12"  papers with Christmas greeting.

This image is directly under Teddy Bea and features a panel for recording of a greeting.  This has been folded back over the outside of the card and shows the front featuring glittered butterflies.

Gosh you made it to the end.  I have given information overload.  Hope you enjoyed this post, or looking at the pretty pictures if you got bored.  Thank you so much for your visit.

Sending warmest wishes to all.

A Sweet little Ragged Angel

Happy Sunday to everyone.  The weather here has really changed and Autumn has arrived.  I love this time of year - as long as its not to cold. The colours of Autumn are wonderful and I am now seriously thinking about Christmas.

This fabulous sweet image from Mo Manning is called Ragged Angel and I have coloured and glittered the image and mounted this on an easel card and used distressing inks, lace and pearls, ribbon and sparkle.   I have experimented with paper weaving as I have never used this technique before and have produced two patchwork paper heart pockets and a patchwork label with matching topper.

I would like to enter this card for the following Challenges.

A closer view of the front of the card.  The image is mounted as a circular die cut and I have used a die cut circular frame distressed with vintage inks from Tim Holtz.  Promarker and Fleximarker pens have been used to colour and shade the image.  I have used glitter for the wings and details and Snow Marker Pen for definition.  The snowflakes are die cuts which I have glittered and added pearls form Kaisercraft.  The papers are three 12 x 12 designer sheets from my stash.  I created the patchwork heart using a tutorial from Stamp ARTic  The hearts are little pockets and the pocket on the front of the card contains a matching patchwork label.  I have used lace to decorate the heart pocket on the front of the card.

Image showing the inside of the Easel Card featuring another decorated patchwork pocket with foiled Merry Christmas greeting.

A closer view of the patchwork label.  I have used a lovely rich red ribbon from my stash and a glittered die cut star to decorate.  There is plain circle greeting panel on the back of the label for recording a message.

The card and label

A closer view of the card when closed, this is a 6" x 6" card.   I hope you like this card, please let me know what you think.   I am trying to use techniques which are new to me with most of the cards that I make.  There is a lot of work in this card but I really enjoyed making this.  I think I will be making more paper patchwork/weaving projects as I think  it looks so good.

Thank you for reading this post.  Warm weekend wishes to all.

La Vie en Rose Box Book Card

Hello to all.  Another fun filled afternoon for me when I should have been doing other things.  I have been looking for ideas for various types of cards and came across a tutorial for a lovely Box Book Card from McMahon Five DesignsThe tutorial is very clear and easy to follow and I really enjoyed making this card.

I have used a sheet of wonderful foiled images from Hunkydory to create the focus for the card.  The backing paper is Ode to Joy which came from my stash.  The die cuts are Die-namics cutting dies and using gold mirror card.  The roses reflect the colours and sentiment of the card and there is a blank matching topper for recording of a sentiment.  The ribbon used throughout the card is pink American seam binding from my stash.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Showing the back of the card with matching foiled image and die cuts.

The Vampire Rose

Happy day to all.  My card today features the wonderful image 'Rose - a vampire' from Saturated Canary.  This is a company I have just discovered and the images are exquisite. I think you will be seeing a lot more of this wonderful artwork on my blog.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges.

Without further ado on to the card.

The wonderful image has been coloured in shades of pink, purple and grey using Promarker and Fleximarker pens and decorated with heart shaped jewels.  Various sizes of cutting dies have been used to create her mounting and also the card itself and backing sheets which are made from 12 x 12 sheets.  All of the papers come from my stash.  I have decorated the front of the card with buttons and more hearts, ribbons, bows, roses for Rose and a filigree corner.  There is a lilac spray which I coloured with my Promarkers.    The inside of the card uses matching papers, ribbon and embellishments.  I have created the sentiment and used vintage distressed inks to colour and this is mounted on a matching coloured foiled heart.

A closer look at this fabulous image.  I enjoyed using these colour tones which were outside of my usual comfort zone, particularly so much use of the grey, but I think it worked well.  Please let me know what you think.

Sending warmest wishes to all.

What a Cutie

A happy weekend to all.  Work is finished and craft begins.  The weather here is fabulous and I should be out in the sun but I  have card withdrawal as I have been busy this week.

Today's card is the cutest image and has been such a joy to work with.  The card features 'Hazel' from Wee Stamps  and she and her friend are wonderful.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:

Divas by Design - Challenge 11 a sketch!

Now onto the cutie patootie

I have coloured this lovely image using Promarker pens and am really enjoying using the new Flexmarker pens to shade.  They will lighten and shade a darker color and give lots of definition and I love them. I have used some glitter to add lovely sparkle to the design.  There are three little pumpkin embellishments also on the front of the card.   I have used a Play ticket from Tim Holtz and flowers from my stash.  The background is created from various design papers.  I have used a free digital paper from Bearly Mine Designs - April 07,  Roses 09 digital paper purchased from Bearly Mine and a Sheet of K & Co from my stash.  The clock is made using a Tim Holtz idea-ology mask, these are fabulous and so easy to use.  I used 4 shades of distress inks to colour the clock face.  Thin satin ribbon and twine has also also been used.

A closer view of this sweet image to show detail and colouring.

On the inside of the card I have used matching papers.

The Tim Holtz Clock face mask with distress inks and tag which I printed and inked and mounted.

Showing further details of papers used and an Autumn pumpkin topper from my stash.  There is a panel for recording a greeting.  This card would be great for Halloween or a September/October Birthday.

Thank you for reading this post.  I hope you like the card.  Please leave feedback as its great to hear your comments.

Sending warmest wishes to all.
